19 of Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hard courts
A revitalized Medvedev claimed his first championship for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging period, managing just a single victory at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - caused him falling of the top ten and eventually splitting with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now working with Johansson and his other coach, he has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested competitive victory over opponent Moutet.
This represents the player's first championship after the Italian tournament and first on a hard surface from spring of 2023.
Victory also means he has secured twenty-one victories at 21 distinct tournaments.
"For the first time I have attended a event with my both daughters together, so to win a title is really nice," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his last six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament earlier this year.
The player's counter-punching play style and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had led commentators to wonder if his ability to compete at the highest level was concluded.
But the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, securing four of the last five points to go ahead.
The pair swapped break points in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his first tour title, took control to create a decider.
He saved 4 initial break points in a tight third set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to serve for the match.
Appropriately, Medvedev secured the win with a rally at the net area, with Moutet unable to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
